Library

The library is the central hub for literacy, reading and learning at Ashburton Primary School. It contains a wide range of up-to-date information and literary resources available for browsing, reading and borrowing. Students have free access to the library before and after-school, at lunchtimes, as well as during weekly library sessions with their class teacher. Information and book resources can be easily searched using the Oliverv5 library system catalogue. All library resources have a 2-week loan period and can be renewed as required. Popular resources can also be reserved for future borrowing. The outstanding range of reading materials available includes the latest fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, as well as picture story books.

Each year the library celebrates The Children’s Book Council of Australia Book Week Awards – with a range of activities and resources by outstanding Australian children’s book authors and illustrators. Every year the Shortlisted book titles are purchased and made available for borrowing, reading and enjoying by the entire school community.

Not only does the library contain a wealth of local Australian and International information and resources it is also simply a wonderful welcoming space to visit, read, imagine and just ‘be’ in.

Happy reading!
